1. Connect iPhone to the computer via USB
2. Open iTunes and select the iPhone
3. On the iPhone Summary tab select "Update"

• iTunes for Windows: Choose "Check for Updates" from the Help menu

Important to Note:

• The particular call and data features available to you will vary depending on the particular iPhone or software version you use.

If you encounter an error while downloading or installing the iPhone OS 3.0 update, try the following:

1. Verify system requirements:
   • Latest version of iTunes
   • USB 2.0 port
   • An active Internet connection
   • Mac OS X 10.4.10 (or later) or Windows XP Home or Professional (SP2) or Windows Vista
2. Check for security software that affects Internet connectivity, including firewall and virus-protection software.
3. Restart the computer and iPhone, or try updating using a different computer. 

If the issue persists, refer to Knowledge Base article TS1275 "Update and restore error messages on iPhone and iPod touch."

iPhone as Modem access
