A: No, to be eligible you must either already have an iPhone 3G or purchase an iPhone 3G with an Optus ‘yes’ Cap or 'yes' Timeless for iPhone 3G plan.
Q: What if I don’t have an iPhone 3G, can I still connect to the iPhone 3G plans? Show Answer
A: No, only customers who purchase an iPhone 3G through Optus or who bring their own iPhone can connect to the Optus ‘yes’ Cap or 'yes' Timeless for iPhone 3G plans.
Q: Can I buy the iPhone outright without connecting to a ‘yes’ Cap or Timeless plan for iPhone 3G? Show Answer
A: No, you will not be able to buy the iPhone outright through an Optus outlet. However, you may consider purchasing a  Pre-Paid iPhone.
Q: I already have an iPhone 3G, can I connect to the Optus Network? Show Answer
A: Yes! You can connect to a BYO month to month Optus ‘yes’ Cap or 'yes' Timeless for iPhone 3G.
Q: Can I bring my number over to Optus to get an iPhone 3G? Show Answer
A: Yes! Purchase an Optus plan for iPhone 3G and iPhone handset and you will be able to nominate to port your number as part of the sales process.
Q: Will the iPhone 3G handset be locked to the Optus Network? Show Answer
A: Yes. The iPhone 3G will be locked to the Optus Network.

If you connect the iPhone 3G to a Post-Paid (on account) contract you are able to unlock the handset by calling Optus Customer Service. No unlocking fee is applicable.
Q: Can I make iPhone 3G handset payments on a month to month contract? Show Answer
A: No. Handsets are only available on 12 or 24 month contracts and not available on month to month plans.

A: The iPhone 3G is compatible with current SIM cards. However it is recommended that iPhone 3G users move to a USIM Card. The benefits are increased memory and compatibility with overseas networks.

A: At this stage Optus will not be supporting Visual Voicemail.
Q: Is it HSPA capable? Show Answer
A: The iPhone 3G gives quad-band GSM and tri-band HSPA for voice and data connectivity around the world. The iPhone 3G supports Wi-Fi & 3G. To access Optus 3G services on iPhone, you must be in an Optus 3G coverage area and have an Optus 3G SIM card. The Apple iPhone is a UMTS2100 band handset and will provide you with access to 3G services in Optus 3G/HSPA 2100MHz service areas. Outside these areas, the iPhone will access the Optus GSM/GPRS network. The Apple iPhone 3G will not provide you with access to 3G services in Optus dual band coverage areas where a dual band (2100/900MHz) handset is required.
